I’m Dreaming of a Sandy Christmas.

Its been almost 2 months since Christmas (AKA my favourite time of the year), and I’m getting post holiday blues with no major events upcoming! Last Christmas was a little different to many other Christmas’ for me, because I didn’t get to spend it in the UK with my family. **cry**

I’m sitting here writing this on the eve of travelling to South Korea for 10 days, wondering how I got so lucky as to be able to do all of this.

The last time I wrote a blog post, we were living in smoggy, tier three, Xiangyang. Now, that living experience didn’t come without its benefits; we became really appreciative of the western luxuries that we took for granted, and being thrown into a city where they spoke next to no English really forced us to immerse ourselves in the culture.

While our first trip, Xi’an, Tianjin, Beijing, Harbin, focused on some of the most famous landmarks in China, the upcoming itinerary will lay great emphasis on exploring one of China’s most iconic cities – Shanghai – and the surrounding area.

From Warriors to the Wall: Xi’an, Tianjin, Beijing, Harbin.

Our first lengthy trip in China, and arguably the most memorable. We were able to tick two major destinations off (Xi’an and Beijing), whilst also exploring the lesser known Tianjin. The northern city of Harbin was particularly special, being our home during the Chinese New Year celebrations.

Zhangjiajie – Avatar Mountains Itinerary.

Having completed a short trip to Zhangjiajie, we thought it would be nice to start writing itineraries! We spent two shorts days there, but found that we had seen so many amazing places, and didn’t feel too pressured for time.

Graduation – One Year Later.

On the 29th July 2017, Menna and I stood proudly in our graduation gowns having just received our degrees – marking an end to our time at Swansea University.

Upon it’s release in 2009, I – being only thirteen years old – was taken back and astounded by the creativity and spectacular visual effects that the film displayed.
